Nat 20 News: The Ultimate Quest For Awesomeness

by Nur Schlenker

A human in clanging plate armor holds her shield before her as she runs toward the massed goblins. With a pseudodragon curled around his shoulders, a young elf in golden robes smiles warmly, weaving a spell in his words and bending the guard to his will.

D&D is an awesome RPG (role playing game) in which you can be almost anything and do almost anything. Whether a harrowed, scarred veteran, or a powerful fresh newbie, this is my  D&D column.

Today's bit is about Slaadi, kinda like giant evil frog aberrations. In my opinion, their name sounds way too much like salad. This is especially hilarious in the case of the death slaadi (you try saying death salad and not at least giggling). However, they are still level 5 monsters, so beware if lower than 4th level! Especially weirdly gross are the red slaadi, who can make a slaad egg incubates in the (unwilling) host’s chest cavity until it bursts out, killing the host in the process.

For those budding DMs, (Dungeon Masters) here’s a tip! DO NOT make the first monster your party encounters a troll! While a classic, they are pretty tough so be warned!
